Who We Are:
HelpNow is powered by people like you—veterans and first responders ready to serve again, and dauntless citizens driven to do more. Our mission is built on people who are ready to make a tangible difference by helping communities prepare for and recover from disaster. This is more than volunteering; this is a force for resilience.
We can tell you what our mission is, but we'd rather show you what it's like. In this video, one of our team members gives an honest, on-the-ground account of their experience in the field—the challenges, the rewards, and the real-world impact of our work.
"My time with HelpNow has shown me what it really means to have a purpose. It's about serving a mission bigger than yourself."

Every mission requires a variety of skills, and we have a place for everyone. We operate in a disciplined and organized manner, ensuring you can contribute effectively from day one. Find your role by discovering where you can have the greatest impact.
This is the boots-on-the-ground force. We deploy directly into disaster zones to conduct search and rescue, provide emergency medical aid, and assist with hands-on tasks like chainsaw operations, debris removal, and home repair.
This is the bedrock of our preventative mission. Join our instructors to deliver our no-cost, life-saving training in disaster preparedness, CPR/AED, and active violence response to communities, businesses, and organizations.
A mission isn't won in the field alone. These roles are critical for managing our communications, logistics, and data from anywhere. Volunteers can assist from home by tracking weather, manning our call center, or helping with administrative tasks.
Getting started is simple. We've created a straightforward path to ensure every new member is prepared to answer the call.
Start by creating your profile to begin the onboarding process.
Complete our foundational online training, which introduces you to our mission, our values, and the Incident Command System (ICS) that guides every operation.
Once your training is complete, you'll be eligible for mission updates and a call to action when a disaster strikes.
Joining the HelpNow team is more than just volunteering—it’s an opportunity for personal and professional growth.

What is the time commitment required?
There is no minimum time commitment. We understand that volunteers have busy lives, and our system is designed for flexibility. You can participate in training and deployments that fit your schedule.
No. We provide all the necessary foundational training, including an introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS). The only things you need are a willingness to learn and a heart for service.
Our foundational training is provided at no cost. You may be responsible for personal gear or travel expenses for deployments, but we strive to provide as much support as possible and will always be transparent about any costs involved.
Once you complete your training, you will be added to our active roster. We will send out notifications for upcoming training opportunities, community events, and, most importantly, calls to action for disaster deployments.
